Applique using the embroidery machine and Bernina Version 6 Software is fun and so much faster than hand applique. The beginner class held previously covered closed-object and open-object but this class will review those techniques and include partial applique and combining applique with normal embroidery.

Mounted Window treatments are the answer to your undressed windows. They are unlimited in design to satisfy the decorator in you. They are economical and easy to construct. Carol Hayford is a Pam Damour Certified Drapery Instructor. Techniques taught in this class include measuring, calculating yardage, treatment design and pattern design, fabrication and installation. All techniques are designed to use a regular home sewing machine. Kit Fee: $45.00

“Digitizing made easy” is the feature of the 6 hour lock-in using Bernina Artista Version 5 or 6 software. By the stroke of midnight you will have learned the proper steps needed to digitize your own simple designs. Bring your computer and your dongle (you can’t work without a dongle) and enjoy a fun-filled evening as you learn in a relaxed atmosphere .

Hooping & Stabilizing Tips & Tricks $30.00

This class is open to all embroidery machine owners. Patty will teach and demonstrate basic hooping and stabilizing techniques. She will demonstrate some of the specialty hoops and stabilizers. There will be hands-on practice with your own hoop and projects. Bring along your hoops and those sweatshirts, towels, tote bags, etc that give you problems. Class fee includes kit. Martha Pullen Serger Victorian Bonnet $40.00

What would those of the Victorian era say if they knew how quickly this serger bonnet could be placed upon a baby’s head? Three rows of different Victorian insertions are joined to each other by bridging and then bordered all the way around with pointed edging. A tiny button secures the silk satin ribbon neck ties on each side while narrower ribbon is woven through the holes of the bridging to create a casing for gathering the bonnet closed in the back. Sew 101 - Understanding Your Sewing Machine - Duluth $30.00

These classes are limited to age 16 and up. Understand the mechanics of threading, bobbin winding, needle insertion, etc. Practice sewing basic stitches. Some basic supplies needed. Sew 102 - Introduction to Patterns, Fabrics and Notions - Duluth $30.00

These classes are limited to age 16 and up. Now that you have mastered the basics of your sewing machine, it is time to move on to the next step. In this class you will work with patterns, and learn how to choose the correct size and how to read the guide sheet. You will also learn about different fabrics which will help you choose the correct one for a project. Using the correct tools is an important part of the sewing process. There are so many to choose from so we will help you decide what will be right for you.

Are you having trouble hooping your fabric? Do you just guess when and how to use a stabilizer? If so, this is the class for you! Come and learn how to get professional results with your embroidery.
   

     Our customers tell us that ASC classes are informative and great fun, and the only disappointment is not being able to take them all. We pride ourselves in providing the finest instruction at the lowest possible price. Your place in one of our exciting classes is reserved by full payment of our class fee. All class fees must be paid one week prior to the first meeting. Class space is reserved with payment.
      It is disappointing to all when we have to cancel a class, or when the class you want to participate in has already filled. Therefore, we ask that you please register early, as there is both a minimum and maximum number of students per class.
      To receive a refund for a class you have registered for, you must cancel at least one week before the first class. No refund will be given for late cancellation or no show.      Please ask for a supply list at the time of registration or download one here. Please wait until the class has been confirmed before purchasing your supplies.
      Unless a class is specified as a children’s class, no children under age 16 are permitted in class without the teacher’s permission.
     Cell phones must be turned off during class time.
