In the Community

At Atlanta Sewing Center, we enjoy giving back to our community sew much that we want to share it all with you!

Take a look below at the groups and organizations that we work with that make such a heart-warming impact in our area.

Helping Hands for Tiny Stitches

Lately, we have been working with Gwinnett County-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Tiny Stitches. This special organization provides basic clothing and other items to disadvantaged newborns and preemies in North Georgia. One of the several ways they help those in need within the area, Tiny Stitches provides burial ensembles to any family that suffers the loss of an infant -- regardless of their financial status. They also provide garments and other requested items to NICU's in local hospitals. Unfortunately, many mothers in this area have had no prenatal care, delivered their babies at home, or at walk-in clinics. It is essential that we help those mothers and babies in need, especially those with absolutely nothing. For additional information, please visit Tiny Stitches' website at www.tinystitches.org

The Atlanta [American Sewing Guild] Chapter Welcomes You

Each month a chapter of the American Sewing Guild meets at our Duluth store, working on several charitable projects!

To give you quick summary, the American Sewing Guild is a membership organization that welcomes sewing enthusiasts of all skill levels and from many different walks of life. Chapters are located in cities all across the country and members meet monthly to learn new sewing skills, network with others who share an interest in sewing and participate in community service sewing projects. Membership in the Guild gives you an opportunity to experience your love of any type of home sewing with others who share your interest.  Atlanta Sewing Group Atlanta Sewing Group Atlanta Sews! A hospital experience can be terrifying and traumatic for both a child and their family. While others strive to find a cure, Ryan’s Case for Smiles helps with the stress and emotional impact of illness in the here and now. Our whimsical pillowcases give children an emotional boost, while resources and tools help families better understand and cope with the experience.  The Georgia Chapter services the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta hospitals and 7 additional hospitals throughout the state.  ASC is a drop-off location for completed pillowcases.  For more information, visit www.caseforsmiles.org.

***For anyone who is interested in participating in the above groups/organizations, WE WELCOME YOU! Let us know and we'll connect you with the right person.
