Block Swap
We are SEW thrilled that you're interested in joining Block Swap at AASC!
Here's how Block Swap works: pick up your kit from our store as soon as they're available and then get started! You'll need to create 12 blocks using only the fabric from your kit. We will then meet on The designated day to swap blocks!
To ensure a successful swap, please follow these guidelines:
1) Create (12) 12.5” blocks. You can use any method you prefer for constructing your blocks! Whether it's traditional piecing, paper piecing, embroidery, or applique, feel free to mix it up with simple or intricate designs!
2) Utilize the fabrics in your kit. You’re not required to use every fabric in each block, and the blocks you make can be different from one another! If you need more fabric, all the fabrics in your kit are available for purchase while supplies last.
3) If you need assistance selecting your block design, our staff members are here to help you find the perfect option(s).
4) Don’t forget to invite your friends to join the fun!
Our Summer Block Swap Fabrics will be in anyday now, and we are thrilled to be using the Acorn Hollow line by BasicGrey from Moda. Once the fabrics are in, we'll get the kits ready and let everyone know!
If you are interested in doing this with Christmas fabrics, we are currently holding voting for which of two lines we will use. Come in the store to see the samples of Berry & Pine and Love & Cheer and vote which you would like to use for a swap quilt before the end of June. Votes will be tallied and the kits with the winning fabric line will be available beginning July 12th at our Christmas in July event!
Our Winter Block Swap, held in January, will feature the Penelope fabric line from Riley Blake. Fabrics will be available in September.
